maghi Saptami

Today is maghi saptami. This days is being observed very religiouly in Mithila region including my village. the leaves of 'ber' is kept beneath the foot and 'Aak' is kept on head and by repeating 'airi bairi pair tar, shvshankr matha par', we take bath in nearby river, village pond or wherever we reach for taking bath.
i've no idea what this ritual does mean, but this auspicious day, in all over India, in the name of Achala Saptami or Saur Saptami or Rath Saptami, is celebrated in the honour Surya Bhagwan. I feel that this day also is on the line of prakriti worship by our purvaj, which is still prevalant and relevant.

apan gaam ke ek mahan aatma swarg sidhari gelah pachhila din, o chhathi Shri Chandramohan Thakur. Umar rahani 100 saal se upar. Gaam ke ek paigh kisaan chhalah aa ek got sajjan satpurush seho. gaam ke vikas ke lel o har samay prayatnsheel rahlah. May Kaali a Bhole baba hunka atma ke shanti pradan karthun. Chainpur gaam ke hunkar abhav mahsus hoit rahat.
